F R MUSIC PROJECT is an original songwriting duo out of Tampa Bay Florida. Fred Schmid (the ‘F’) and Rich Allen (the ‘R’) formed the project in 2017, a year after their former band Facility disbanded in 2016. Facility was mostly known as a local Reggae-Rock band and played many local events through a strong music partnership with local reggae band Jahfari and were featured at Skippers Smokehouse with local bands Trinity 7 and Badda Skat.
After Facility disbanded, Fred & Rich continued developing their own yet complimentary diverse musical landscapes. Providence struck 100% when they reunited in 2017. New energy was sparked and they began performing live for a number of local charities while also stepping up their game in the studio and creating what is now known as “F&R Music Project.”
The MUSIC – Folk melodies and harmonies, large “moving-you-in-your-seat" bass lines, driving funky beats & rhythms, and lyrical content worth reading and singing along to make F&R one of the more unique tickets in town. The F&R experience is diversity: “We believe in opening the project to other musicians and allowing them to bring their own musical genius to the songs that we write, produce and perform. It also opens up more opportunities to support the mission of F&R Music Project, which goes beyond the music.” -Rich Allen (The ‘R’)
Despite sharing many of the same interests and pastimes, we all are inspired by different things that lead us to work seamlessly in a creative setting. We take turns writing lyrics so we are all invested in each song and its meaning.
Our music blends rock, acoustic melodies, to create a unique sound. Our lyrics are personal and inspired by our own lives. We’ve written about the excitement of traveling alone, love, and getting older.
